Product information

In 1961 Fender wanted to expand its range, and after Danelectro had already introduced a six-string guitar-bass used by then guitar superstar Duane Eddy, they decided to produce a significantly more sophisticated model. That was the birth of the Bass VI. The Bass VI was intended to make it easier for guitarists to switch to the electric bass; in essence this instrument is a guitar with a long scale and strings tuned one octave lower. Prominent users included Jack Bruce and the Beatles. In the '70s the Bass VI gained belated fame thanks to the Dutch band 'Hank the Knife & the Jets', who used the Bass VI. Original examples of this niche instrument are rare and very expensive, but there's a remedy: the Vintera III Bass VI 3TS is a reissue of this exotic instrument at a moderate price. Looks, wiring and appointments match the original — an exotic but very cool instrument.
