“My Most Beautiful Christmas Songs for Piano” is a collection of the most popular Christmas songs in pleasing-sounding, simple arrangements. The pieces, with accompanying lyrics, are intended for performance, accompaniment and sing-alongs and are a festive companion for the Christmas season. The collection includes a total of 24 well-known Christmas songs suitable for both beginners and advanced players. Ten of the included pieces are offered in two versions — once in a simple, easy-to-play variant (for beginners) and additionally in a slightly more demanding variant (for advanced players). The remaining 14 Christmas songs are also in the easy to slightly demanding range and are already playable in the second and third year of lessons.
The keys are limited to the “easy” (and easy-to-sing) keys C major, F major and G major. The melodies mostly span an octave (8 notes) up to a tenth (10 notes). Right-hand playing techniques such as finger spreading, finger substitution on the same key as well as under- and over-transfers should therefore already be known. As a beginner you should initially limit yourself in the first year of lessons to playing the melody in the right hand.
