The Special Features of Redwood Cantora Classical Guitars

What all models have in common:

Truss Rod

Truss Rod

All Cantora models are equipped with a built-in truss rod, allowing precise adjustment of the string action to match individual playing preferences or climatic changes – ensuring lasting playing comfort.

Armrest

Armrest

The armrest, integrated into the guitar top, provides added playing comfort: a beveled edge that allows the right arm to rest comfortably – relieving pressure, preventing pressure points, and making even long practice sessions more enjoyable. While this feature is only included in the 7/8 and 4/4 models of the Cantora, it comes standard in all sizes of the Cantora Plus and Cantora Pro.

Rounded Frets Ends

Rounded Frets Ends

The frets ends are carefully rounded, allowing the fretting hand to glide comfortably – without the scratchy feeling often found on budget guitars.

Nut Width

Nut Width

Depending on the model and version, Cantora guitars feature different nut widths – referring to the width of the neck at the top of the fretboard. These range from 43.5mm to 45mm and 48mm, making them ideal for smaller hands or players who prefer a slimmer neck profile. For the larger variants, you can choose between a comfortable 52mm or a more tactile 50mm – depending on which feel suits you best.

The Differences Between the Cantora Variants:

Redwood Cantora Size Guide

Your musical entry into the world of guitar playing:

If you want to learn to play the guitar, you should choose an instrument that sounds pleasant, is easy to play, and offers enough space on the fretboard to help you position your fingers more easily—especially when chord shapes may initially feel awkward. A classical guitar is a great choice for this. Its wide fretboard and thicker, softer nylon strings make it easier for your fingers to adapt to the unfamiliar strain.

Another important factor is choosing the right size. You shouldn't have to stretch uncomfortably because the guitar neck is too long. On the other hand, you also shouldn't have to deal with too little space between the frets because the neck is too short. That's why the Redwood Cantora is available in various sizes—so you can play in a comfortable, natural position. We'll help you find the size that suits you best.

1/4 Size

With a scale length of 440 mm, 1/4 size models are especially suitable for heights between 110–130 cm or an age of around 5–7 years.

The “scale length” refers to the length of the strings from the bridge at the bottom to the nut at the top. It represents the playable area and should comfortably fit within your reach 😉

1/2 Size

With a scale length of 530 mm, 1/2 size models are especially suitable for heights between 120–140 cm or an age of around 7–9 years.

At the bridge, the strings are anchored at the bottom end and transmit their vibrations to the guitar's top – the front-facing part of the body, also called the soundboard. This is how the sound of the strings is amplified.

3/4 Size

With a scale length of 590 mm, 3/4 size models are especially suitable for heights between 130–150 cm or an age of around 10–13 years.

At the nut, the strings pass through the top end toward the tuning machines, which are used to tune the instrument.
