Murphy Lab – Ultra Light Aged

The 1958 Les Paul Standard is a classic model from cult manufacturer Gibson. While monochrome models with P-90 single coils were the standard at Gibson until the mid-1950s, humbuckers found their way into the Les Paul lineup towards the end of the decade. Gibson also became more experimental when it came to color / finish : instead of Ebony and Gold Top, they worked with different burst finishes that were supposed to give the guitars a very special look.
We were inspired by these guitars and are now introducing you to our Made To Measure series Les Paul 1958 Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged from the Gibson custom shop . Each instrument is a unique piece made from carefully selected woods and components.

Our session Select 1958 models have beautiful Lemon Drop or Iced Tea Burst finishes. These have been carefully hand-aged in Tom Murphy's famous Murphy Lab to give the guitars the feel and look of an instrument that has been played for years.
